EirGrid is encouraging community groups and organisations close to the north Connacht 110 kilovolt project to join a new community forum.
The new powerline is due to enhance the electricity network in the area and connect new renewable generation onto the national grid.
The grid operator is now looking for people from the local communities involved to join the forum and give their views on the project.
The forum will receive project updates and will provide guidance to the project team on any relevant community issues.
The new powerline will be mainly underground and will run from Ballina in Mayo to Ballaghaderreen in Roscommon.
An information evening is to be held on Thursday of next week via Zoom to inform communities and stakeholders about the forum.
