Eamon Ryan to get 'pedalling protection officer'

The Environment Minister is to get a 'pedalling protection officer' while he cycles around on Government business.

Unlike his cabinet colleagues Eamon Ryan doesn't use a ministerial car.

Its understood expressions of interest for the role have been sought from Gardai, however Minister Ryan has says he understands there won't always be a cycling officer available and occasionally a Garda car will be deployed as he cycles around Dublin on Ministerial business.
