Funding of an additional one million euro has been allocated to progress the N4 Mullingar to Longford Road Project.
In December last year, the TII announced that it had no money available to begin the upgrade which was initially mooted over 10 years ago.
However, the Transport Minister Eamon Ryan has today confirmed that funding has been allocated to resume a preferred route selection.

Local TD Joe Flaherty is welcoming today's news and is hopeful a route will be identified by the end of the year.
