It would cost over €1.5 million to reopen Castlerea fire station, according to Roscommon County Council.
The station has been closed since 2017, with fire cover provided by other stations.
Castlerea councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice called for it to be reopened at the council's budget meeting this week.
