Fine Gael councillor Domnick Connolly is set to become the cathaoirleach of Roscommon County Council today.
Independent Laurence Fallon is due to become the leas-cathaoirleach.
The ruling alliance of Roscommon County Council is made up of councillors from Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and Independents Tom Crosby, Emer Kelly and Laurence Fallon.
This group is sharing the cathaoirleach and leas-cathaoirleach positions between them over the five-year term.
The current cathaoirleach is Liam Callaghan, from Fine Gael, and the leas-cathaoirleach is John Keogh, from Fianna Fáil.
That will change this afternoon, when the council's AGM takes place.
Fine Gael colleague Domnick Connolly will become cathaoirleach and Independent councillor Laurence Fallon will become leas-cathaoirleach.
The cathaoirleach gets an allowance of €20,000 for his one-year term and the leas-cathaoirleach gets €4,000.
