A former head of the garda cold-case unit says it would be "difficult" for a public inquiry to solve the brutal death of a Roscommon priest.
Yesterday was the 40th anniversary of the death of Fr Niall Molloy in Clara, Co Offaly - in the home of Richard and Therese Flynn.
His nephew, Bill Maher, is calling for a commission of investigation into the case.
Former Chief Superintendent Christy Mangan says there were four people in the Flynns' house at the time of Fr Molloy's death.
