Dermot Earley Bursary award winners announced

Aisling Hanly from Kilteevan is this year's female award recipient.

Roscommon County Council recently announced the winners of this years Dermot Earley Bursary.

The initiative, now in its eleventh year, honour outstanding young men and women, not only for their sporting excellence but also for their potential in their chosen field. Aisling Hanly from Kilteevan is this year's female award recipient. She was the captain of the Roscommon Convent of Mercy team that won the All Ireland 'B' title last year and is also an integral part of the Roscommon Senior Ladies Football team. Meanwhile, Cormac Rynn from Derreenavoggy near Arigna is this year's male award recipient. Cormac is the current Connacht swimming champion in a number of events, having medalled at National level on multiple occasions.

His aim is to make the National Swim team and the Irish 2028 Olympic team.
