The Dáil has heard that the people of county Longford deserve "first class facilities" when it comes to healthcare. Plans for three primary care centres in the county appear to have stalled despite tenders for the projects being approved.
Longford-Westmeath TD Michael Carrigy raised the issue, telling the Tánaiste Simon Harris that proposed centres in Ballymahon, Edgeworthstown and Granard have seen little progress. Deputy Carrigy said communities have been waiting years for these facilities and questioned why the developments have not moved forward despite the tender process being completed:
