Tom Crosby was reacting to complaints that the land beside the Westward Service Station in the village had been illegally cleared today.

A Roscommon Councillor has refuted claims that he illegally cleared hedgerows on newly acquired land in Tarmonbarry. Tom Crosby was reacting to complaints that the land beside the Westward Service Station in the village had been illegally cleared today. It's illegal to cut hedgerows between March first and August 31st. The well known businessman has stated he wants to see the land used to further develop the village.

He's discussed the possibility of constructing a medical centre and drive-thru restaurant on the site on the N5. Responding to the complaints, Councillor Crosby stated that the hedges on the land were not touched during works today. He says a substantial amount of brambles were removed from the overgrown site, which he says was completely legal:
