Cowen calls for more local input into Just Transition spending

The European candidate also expressed his belief that Fianna Fáil should adopt a two-candidate strategy in the Midlands North West.

A local TD and European elections candidate says local groups should have more say in how Just Transition funding is spent. Barry Cowen, who was chosen as Fianna Fáil's candidate for the Midlands North West this week, wants more ownership locally. The Offaly TD also said the demands on match funding were too great for community groups.

Deputy Cowen also expressed his belief that Fianna Fáil should adopt a two-candidate strategy in the Midlands North West. Speaking to Shannonside, Deputy Cowen said certain aspects of Just Transition funding would have to be re-assessed:
