Co. Roscommon is missing its targeted number of new houses by around 50 per cent a year. The Roscommon County Development Plan said an average of 392 new houses would be needed every year between 2022 and 2028.
But Roscommon County Council says only around 200 are being delivered every year. Chief executive Shane Tiernan says it's due to a lack of market demand:
