A counselling service for victims of sexual violence locally has opened in county Leitrim.
The Sligo Rape Crisis Centre is operating a dedicated counselling room and outreach centre in Carrick-on-Shannon.
Specialist trauma therapists will support survivors who have experienced such violent incidents.
Support is also provided to parents, family members, friends and parents of survivors.
