The Dail has heard that it could cost up to three million euro to relocate a number of families and farmyards living adjacent to a flooded turlough  in Roscommon.

A representative for the Minister for the OPW, Patrick O Donovan, explained that applications to government for a special scheme to be re-located are currently being processed.

Ossian Smith's comments came after a query by TD Denis Naughten in the Dail, who will be part of a special delegation meeting the Minister next Wednesday to discuss issues around Lough Funshinagh.

Deputy Naughten feels moving people, rather than installing an overflow pipe, makes no sense:
