A local man says he's concerned smaller churches may be forced to close in the future due to a shortage of priests. It was confirmed yesterday that Kevin Doran has been appointed as the new Bishop of Achonry.
He's staying on as Bishop of Elphin, which is in the process of merging with Achonry. Ballaghaderreen native Michael Scally welcomed the news however he fears some churches may be impacted in years to come:
