Concerns raised locally over increasing ambulance response times

The national target is to respond in 75 per cent of cases of life-threatening cardiac or respiratory arrest in just under 19 minutes.

Concern has expressed locally over ever-increasing ambulance response times. The national target is to respond in 75 per cent of cases of life-threatening cardiac or respiratory arrest, and 45% of cases of life-threatening illness or injury in just under 19 minutes. In this region, 65% and 45% of responses respectively were within target last year. Local Cllr and member of the Regional Health Forum West Paddy Farrell feels the issue needs to be addressed:
