Slatta National School near Rooskey has set a deadline of February 6th to preserve its two-teacher status.

A school in County Roscommon could be forced to close due to low student numbers. Slatta National School near Rooskey has set a deadline of February 6th to preserve its two-teacher status. The Board of Management says it must enrol another ten students before then in order to keep the doors open.

The school currently has eight students enrolled with three set to move on to secondary education next year. Nollaig Feeney is on the board of management, she says the future of the school is in real danger:
