A Co. Leitrim National School was forced to close earlier this week and cancel their Christmas show due to power outages. St. Brigid's National School in Drumcong was one of a number of premises affected by power outages in South Leitrim over the past number of days. The school was closed on Wednesday due to no electricity and it lost power again yesterday for a period of the day.
The school also had to postpone their Nativity and Christmas Carol service on Wednesday due to the outages however it will take place later this morning. Principal Catriona Faughnan says the pupils are in good spirits ahead of todays performance:
