A close friend of west Roscommon councillor Anthony Waldron says he represented all that's good about local politics. He died of natural causes at his home in Ballintubber over the weekend, while aged in his 60s.
He was an Independent councillor since 2019, and was a Fianna Fail councillor between 2004 and 2009. Former councillor Michael Scally, from Ballaghaderreen, says he was friends with him for many years:
