It's hoped a new film based on the Clonfin Ambush will encourage young people to explore the rich history of County Longford.
Clonfin, a documentary about the events of 1921 will premiere this evening at 7pm in Granard Community Library.
Commissioned by Longford County Council as part of the decade of centenaries, the story is told through a combination of interviews with historians and relatives of participants as well as archival footage and dramatic reconstructions.

All are welcome to attend tonight's showing with hopes it will share the historical event to a new audience.
