The National Transport Authority has unveiled its enhanced Local Area Hackney licence scheme, which aims to improve transport in rural communities that cannot support full-time taxi services.

The National Transport Authority has unveiled its enhanced Local Area Hackney licence scheme, which aims to improve transport in rural communities that cannot support full-time taxi services.

This will allow local hackney vehicle and driver licences to last for five years, an increase from the previous three-year term. Kevin O'Brien, Director of Transport Regulation at the National Transport Authority spoke on this morning's JF Show:
