Changes to local hackney licences will make it easier for drivers to operate a local transport service in the Shannonside region. The National Transport Authority has unveiled its enhanced Local Area Hackney licence scheme, which aims to improve transport in rural communities that cannot support full-time taxi services.
This will allow local hackney vehicle and driver licences to last for five years, an increase from the previous three-year term. Kevin O'Brien, Director of Transport Regulation at the National Transport Authority spoke on this morning's JF Show:
