Cathaoirleach hopes new Roscommon CDP will reflect climate change concerns

The plan should be approved by the middle of next year.

It's hoped that the next County Development Plan for Roscommon will be one of the most climate-conscious in the country.

Elected members took part in a meeting that lasted for several hours on Tuesday to respond to the Chief Executives Report and propose amendments to the plan which covers 2021to 2027.

The amendments and additions will now go to public consultation and it is hoped that the final plan will be approved by the middle of next year.

The meeting heard lengthy discussions about wind turbines and what can and should be done to make the county more environmentally friendly,
