Castlerea Community School students wins big at public speaking competition

A team from Castlerea Community School in Roscommon have won the Knights of St. Columbanus' 2023 Connacht Schools Public Speaking Competition.

TY students Leanne Vaughan, Sarah Joyce, Julia Dzwonkowska and Micheal Shriane emerged as winners of the Connacht final held in Donamon this week.

The competition, sponsored by the 1915 religious order Knights of St. Columbas, encourages students to give a presentation on church teachings.

A cheque for 250 euros and a trophy were presented to the students, who will now represent Connacht in the All-Ireland final.
