A local member of the Oireachtas Media Committee is defending the Media Minister over the payments controversy at RTE.
Catherine Martin is due before the Committee tomorrow, over her TV remarks that led to the resignation of former Chair Siún Ní Rathallaigh.
She's at odds with the RTE Board, claiming she wasn't told an exit package for former RTE CFO Richard Collins was approved.

Fine Gael Media spokesperson Senator Micheál Carrigy sits on the Oireachtas Media Committee.
The Longford based Senator says the Minister was right.
