Carrick chamber says sanctions ''a must'' for non-compliant businesses

Hospitality lobby groups have sought harsher penalties for breaching Covid guidelines

The hospitality industry has called for stronger sanctions for pubs and restaurants breaching the Covid regulations.

The Restaurants Association of Ireland says this should include fines and closures.

It follows a meeting between the hospitality sector, Government officials and the Deputy CMO Dr Ronan Glynn this afternoon.

CEO of the Restaurants Association of Ireland Adrian Cummins says they want proper enforcement of the rules.

President of the Chamber of Commerce in Carrick on Shannon Colm McGrath says sanctions are a must, if businesses want to avoid restrictions.
