Calls made for three extra bank holidays a year

The new bill would see three more bank holidays in Ireland bring the total number of bank holidays yearly to twelve.

People before Profit says a new bill which, if passed, would add three more bank holidays to the calendar to recognise the efforts of workers.

The party wants to add February 1st, the last weekend in September and the last weekend in November to the number of bank holidays already in Ireland.

The new bill will be brought to the Dail in September.
