There's been calls for tougher action against unauthorised developments across county Longford. It's felt some developers are blatantly ignoring planning laws and enforcement notices already issued by the Council. Cllr Paul Ross is urging Longford County Council to introduce more robust measures to stop these breaches.
The Fine Gael representative has warned that a lack of enforcement undermines public confidence in the planning system. He says the system is simply being ignored:
