There are calls for a state nursing home in south Leitrim to be doubled in size. There are 20 beds in Ballinamore Nursing Unit, but Fine Gael councillor Ita Reynolds-Flynn wants that increased to 40.
This motion will be discussed at a Leitrim County Council meeting next Tuesday. Councillor Reynolds-Flynn is calling for Health Minister Jennifer Carroll-MacNeill to sanction the upgrade:
