A Fine Gael senator, from Castlerea, says the state isn't doing enough to prevent suicides.
Gareth Scahill was speaking in the Seanad this morning, ahead of this Saturday's Darkness Into Light walks.
Locally, there are events in Boyle, Castlerea, Roscommon town, Strokestown and Longford town.

They're in aid of Pieta - the suicide and self-harm prevention charity.
