A Roscommon councillor wants the Department of Children to turn a former doctor’s residence in Boyle into a childcare facility. Cllr Sean Moylan called on the Department to purchase the house, which is currently on the market, at this month’s Roscommon County Council meeting. The building, which is located on Elphin Street in the town, was formerly home to the late Dr Martin Fallon, who passed away in 2007. More recently it housed the popular organic restaurant and takeaway, Drumanilra Farm Kitchen. Cllr Moylan says the local childcare group is looking for a premises in Boyle.
He says it would be an ‘ideal location’ for a community childcare centre under the auspices of Boyle Family Life Centre.
