Call made for improved road safety in Creagh

A number of residents have raised issues over the busy road.

A call is being made for improved road safety on the Woodmount Road at Creagh, Ballinasloe.

South Roscommon councillor John Naughten, says he'll be raising matter at the next meeting of Athlone Municipal District, after being contacted by a number of residents in the area.

Residents want footpaths and public lighting to be extended on the busy road, which services Padraig Pearses GAA Club.

Councillor Naughten says residents are also asking for a reduction in speed limits on the road, and he will be asking for that to be considered, and for funding to be sought to allow for works on the footpaths and lighting.
