People in North Roscommon are being asked to support businesses in the Elphin area that have closed down as a result of a rise in cases of Covid 19.

Hairdressers, shops and restaurants in the town took the decision voluntarily after a spike of cases since the weekend.

Conal Tiernan who runs the Elf Inn restaurant explains why he closed.

Conal asks that people pull together now and follow all public health advice of washing hands, keeping a social distance and staying at home if sick.

He is calling on people to support local businesses who are trying to protect the community when they re-open.
