Breast-screening patients forced to travel long distances

Some cancer patients in Leitrim have to make at least three connections on public transport to get breast-screening.

Fine Gael councillor Ita Reynolds Flynn wants the HSE to ensure any hospital will receive these GP referrals.

She says Leitrim referrals sent to Dublin hospitals are being refused at the moment - with patients redirected to Galway hospitals.
