Boyle refugee accommodation closed due to fire safety concerns

The 14 residents living in the building on Green Street in the town have been relocated to a centre in Galway.

A building used to house refugees in County Roscommon was closed due to concerns over fire safety. Roscommon County Council this afternoon issued a statement confirming the premises was subject to a closure notice by the  under the Fire Services Act by the Fire Authority last Thursday.

The 14 residents living in the building on Green Street in the town have been relocated to a centre in Galway by the International Protection Procurement Service. The local authority said it had informed the Local Authority Integration Team in Galway so that necessary supports could be put in place.
