A local MEP says representatives from Bord na Móna are due to meet a group of farmers from Co. Roscommon next week. A public meeting was held this week in Ballyleague over concerns farmers land will be flooded. Independent Ireland TD Michael Fitzmaurice and MEP Ciaran Mullooly visited some of the worst affected areas in Mount Dillon and Erenagh yesterday.
The rewetting of the local bogs was due to begin this week however the works have now been put on hold. Mullooly says he wants to see farmers concerns dealt with on a case by case basis:
