Main Street in Ballymahon has reopened.
The road was closed overnight and into today after a man in his 80s suffered serious injuries after being hit by car at around 5.15pm on Monday evening.
The pedestrian was rushed to Tullamore hospital.

The driver of the car, a man in his late teens, wasn't injured.
Gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses to come forward.
