A local councillor believes a solution can be found to the ongoing standoff over public realm works in Ballaghaderreen. It follows weeks of protests by residents over the controversial scheme including a peaceful demonstration during yesterday's meeting of Roscommon County Council. Ballaghaderreen councillor Micháel Frain raised the issue during yesterday's plenary meeting and called for mediation in the dispute. His motion received support in the chamber while Council Chief Executive Shane Tiernan said management would be open to meeting with local residents.
