A Pakistani businessman has rejected claims that Ballaghaderreen is a 'dumping ground'. The claim was made by former councillor Michael Scally at a public meeting in the town last week. He slammed plans to accommodate over 200 refugees in 47 modular homes in the area.
Ballaghaderreen Concerned Citizens are holding a private meeting tomorrow to elect a committee to oppose the proposal. Local barber and local elections candidate, Sajjad Hussain, dismissed Mr Scally's comments:
