One of the first babies born in Ireland this year has been named.
Baby Asqa Samad was born to parents Farzana and Afsal in Portiuncula University Hospital in County Galway.
The little girl was welcomed at 1.21 this morning.

Elsewhere, Milly Elizabeth Kelleher arrived at 40 seconds past midnight in the National Maternity Hospital, while a baby boy was delivered just after half past twelve in the Rotunda.
