An Athlone student says an extra ten minutes is not an advantage for those with additional needs when it comes to sitting school exams.
It follows confirmation that around 300,000 candidates will benefit from extra time in written exams this year.
It's part of an initiative aimed at supporting candidates with additional needs.
Students with visual and physical impairments or conditions such as dyslexia can avail of the extra time.
5th year student Sive O'Brien was diagnosed with dyslexia just before she started secondary school.
