The latest anti litter survey of towns in the Shannonside region shows that restrictions due to Covid 19 have had an impact of the cleanliness

The latest anti litter survey of towns in the Shannonside region shows that restrictions due to Covid 19 have had an impact of the cleanliness of towns.

Athlone is in 2nd place, Roscommon is in 7th both are 'Cleaner than European Norms' on the latest Irish Business Against Litter survey.

Longford is just behind in 24th and 25th place but both are in the 'Moderately Littered' category.

Overall the survey showed PPE litter to be widespread and a rise in the prevalence of cans and glass bottles.

Conor Horkan of IBAL says that in the case of Roscommon, it was just one site that let the mark slide.
