A Roscommon National School has seen planning permission for the installation of flood lights at its existing astro-turf pitch appealed to An Bord Pleanala.
Tarmon National School in Castlerea was granted permission for the construction of flood lights for the pitch and lighting to illuminate the existing running track, walkway and car-park with 5 conditions attached.
The development has now been appealed to An Bord Pleanala by John Larkin of Ardass, Castlerea.

The appeal has raised issues over a discrepancy with the erection date of the site notice, light pollution and the effect it'll have on Mr. Larkin's surrounding agricultural land.
An Bord Pleanala is due to decide on the issue in September.
