The higher planning authority has received a request to alter the terms of a proposed wind turbine development in Co. Roscommon.
The previously approved plans are now under review by An Coimisiún Pleanála.
An Coimisiún Pleanála has received a request to amend the terms of a previously approved application to develop twenty wind turbines in South Roscommon.
That's currently still being reviewed, with planners proposing to develop the site across 27 townlands and villages in the county, including Brideswell, Bellnamullia, and Monksland.
The twenty turbines would have an overall ground to blade tip height of 180 metres, a rotor diameter of 162 metres and a hub height of 99 metres.
Also included in the application are fifteen spoil storage areas as well as a metereological mast with a maximum height of 100 metres for a period of thirty years.
Now, a request has been submitted to An Coimisiún Pleanála to omit nine kilometres of 110kV underground cabling between Brideswell and Athlone, and all permitted upgrades to the Athlone electricity substation.
There's also a request to construct around 520 metres of wind farm access track.
Submissions to the Commission are now open until May 22nd 2026.
