Uisce Eireann has confirmed it is set to upgrade a long stretch of water mains in Co Longford.
Under the plans announced, 7.2 kilometre of old and damaged water mains in Abbeyshrule are to be repaired.
Work has already been completed from Lisnadreenagh Cross on the N55 to Legan Village with work set to continue on until the Abbeyshrule Water Treatment Plant.
