Over 5,000 tractors and agricultural vehicles are currently licensed in the Shannonside region.
The figures are contained in the latest release from the CSO. Roscommon has the most tractors licensed in the region at 2,200. This is followed by Longford at 1,136 and Leitrim at 872. Roscommon is the only county in the region with registered combine harvesters, with 2 registered.
Nationally almost 73,000 tractors are licensed, 654 of those as general haulage tractors, while 719 combine harvesters are registered.
