Gardaí are cracking down on speeders in the Shannonside region with 24 new speed camera zones becoming operational from 1st January.
The primary purpose of safety cameras is to reduce speed-related collisions, lessen injuries and save lives on Irish roads.
Longford will have three with one more community request, while Leitrim will have a further six safety camera zones.

Roscommon will have the highest number of safety camera zones in the Shannonside region with 15.
