The average wait time for a driving test in the Shannonside region now stands at just over nine weeks.
The details were revealed this week by Junior Transport Minister Sean Canney.
As of January 24th, Roscommon had the shortest wait time for a test in the region at eight weeks.
There's a nine-week wait for a test in Athlone while it's currently ten weeks in Carrick-on-Shannon.
Longford has the longest wait for a driving test locally, with learner drivers waiting around 11 weeks.
The national average waiting time now stands at 10.3 weeks, which is a slight improvement on the 10.6 weeks recorded at the end of 2025.
The update also confirmed there are currently 196 testers in service nationwide, with numbers expected to rise to 200 by end of the month.
