The principal of Ballyfeeney National School, Diarmuid Sutton, spoke at the public meeting last night. He was accompanied by the school’s therapy dog, Winston.

Ballyfeeney Green Energy is looking for planning permission for six large wind turbines in the area.

A 100-pupil school is expressing serious concern about a wind farm planned for north Roscommon.

Around 80 people attended a public meeting about the project in Kilglass Gaels' GAA club in Rooskey last night.

They'd be close to Ballyfeeney National School - and their board of management opposes the project.
