Almost 3,500 ESB customers in the Shannonside region lost supply almost 24 hours ago due to the high winds.

The single-vehicle collision happened at Ballina Cross, Annaharvey near Tullamore just before midnight last night.

Minister Dara Calleary says all primary schools will be covered by the Hot School Meals Scheme, by the end of the year.

There were 628 in Roscommon, Longford and Mayo - along with 457 in Leitrim and Sligo.

The walk is due to finish next Saturday, August 9th.

It happened at Ballinaboy, Kilteevan, at around 3.45 this afternoon, when two vehicles collided.
