The Ballaghaderreen native has been speaking about her ordeal in a social media interview, after returning to Ireland on Thursday.

The one-of-a-kind concert is to raising vital funds for three charities - the paediatric ward in Sligo University Hospital, Roscommon Youth Services and Mayo Roscommon Hospice.

It was the seventh highest in Ireland last year - despite the fact the county is the least populated.

CISs, which are for local roads or cul de sacs, involve the community paying 10 per cent of the cost and the state paying the rest.

Joseph Gilhooly will now officially hold the role following over 20 years of experience at the county council.

The Ballaghaderreen resident died on Saturday, at the age of 71.

Claims against local authorites are paid by their insurers, Irish Public Bodies.
