Justice Minister Jim O'Callaghan has signed regulations that will allow community safety partnerships to be set up around the country.

Drumhierney Lodge has applied to Leitrim County Council to construct twelve 1-bed chalets in lieu of seven previously granted units.

The Department of Housing says it includes 23 in Leitrim, 19 in Longford and 20 in Roscommon.

He was proposed by his party colleague Seán McGowan, seconded by another colleague, Mary Bohan, and deemed elected.

Lorry driver Shaun Curran of Middle Dore, Bunbeg in Co Donegal, was today jailed for five years with the final twelve months suspended, for dangerous driving causing death.
